Welcome
The civic Art gallery, the Pinacoteca Civica, was first established in 1905 by the eminent art historian Corrado Ricci and originally known as the Municipal Picture Gallery. Corrado Ricci was the one who proposed the idea of exhibiting a collection of works of art from suppressed churches and monasteries in Volterra.
Since 1982 the Art gallery has been housed in Palazzo Minucci Solaini, one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture in Volterra.
